Alan Dershowitz: Media ‘Racist’ In Coverage Of Israel-Hamas Conflict

Retired Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz says the media have been racist in their coverage of the Israeli-Hamas coverage.

During an interview on the Hugh Hewitt radio show, Dershowitz said the media have totally ignored the far greater casualties that have occurred in Muslim-on-Muslim violence in the Arab world.

“Seven hundred people were killed in two days last week – there wasn’t a word about it in the media,” Dershowitz told this writer, who has been guest hosting Hugh Hewitt’s radio show all this week. “But a few dozen Palestinians were killed and the body count was prominent.”

“And I think it is racism – implicit racism on the part of the media,” he continued. “And that is, when an Arab and Muslim kills another Arab and Muslim, it is not news. But when an Israeli Jew in self defense kills an Arab Muslim, that becomes front-page news.”

During two days last week, more Syrians were killed than in the entire flare up between Israel and Hamas over the last two weeks. In total, more Arabs have died in the current Syrian civil war than in the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict by nearly a factor of two.

Alan's right, you know. But, it's not so much racism that infests the media but acquired liberalism, and all that entails. Emotionalism, low IQ manifested as stupidity, gullibility, intellectual laziness. And with females, hairy legs and armpits.

It wasn't always so. News coverage of black plight was standard assignment for reporters during the 1960s civil rights movement. I guess now that Democrats have wrested blacks from their historical Republican home, the sniveling socialists are free to ignore that group and move on to co-op the next demographic group, Hispanics (sic). Got to populate the rank-and-file, you know.

I am going to gently disagree with you. It's not Antisemitism. It is purely and 100% anti-Israeli. How DARE those Jews go off the liberal plantation and have things like pride, self reliance, and resolve!

The modern day left is pro-Islam and anti-Jew.......not just Israel.

Just because the liberal Jews are too dense to see that their political compatriots hate them doesn't mean it isn't so.

You get absolutely zero argument from me that the Progressives (or whatever they call themselves these days) are pro Islam and anti Jew.

You know I am rather fond of the idea of evolution. American Jews ran. They were smart, savvy, did well in their new home. Israeli Jews are survivors. Tough as nails, they are. You'd like them a lot. Same people, same origins, same religion, but it's like comparing a Chihuahua to a Rottweiler.

Two completely different mind sets. New York Jews don't like it. It makes them look bad, the difference.

Having grown up in NYC I see it slightly differently.  NY Jews, in fact many American Jews, see a difference between Judaism and Zionism.  Most NY Jews are not Zionists and disagree with their worldview.  So what appears on the surface to be "pro-Islam" is often times anti-Zionist.  And, yes.  There is a difference.

I only really know Israelis as people. New York - the guy in the deli maybe but you don't talk much so everything gets filtered through the news.

For you please. I know it's on the anecdote on the interwebs level, but I am really curious. Just your observations about Jewish New Yorkers, basically. How they split out Judaism from Zionism.
