Gov. Used Church Camps to House Migrant Children & Didn’t Tell Local Sheriff

Sheriff Rusty Hierholzer, Kerr County, TX

Democrats screamed their heads off when President Bush wanted to fund faith based organization who help those in need, but recently, Immigration Services has relied on faith based organizations to help out with the current migrant children debacle.

We already know from Whoopie’s post the hand the Catholic Church has played in helping illegal migrant children into the country, but even the Sheriff of Kerr County, Texas, had no idea that back in May of 2014, Immigration Services used youth camps (most youth camps in Kerr County are church camps) in Kerr County to house them before they were transported to Lackland Air Force base in San Antonio.

According to an article in the Kerrville Daily Times, Local officials . . . were uninformed about “several hundred” unaccompanied migrant children who were temporarily housed at area camps before a federal shelter was opened at Lackland Air Force Base.” ““We weren’t happy, because they moved them in here without any of us locally knowing about it,” Hierholzer said.”

“Among the groups offering to help is Texas Baptist Men, which is already providing laundry and shower facilities at a Brownsville immigrant youth camp.” (Charity Groups Called Up to Help Immigrant Youth Housing Plan, NBCDF.com).

So now Immigration Services is reaching out to faith based organizations to help mop up the mess he and his fellow Democrats created. And when it comes to informing local authorities about their actions, it’s hush, hush.
