Lee Kella, 30, of Frinstead House, W10, has been sentenced to nine years in prison for false imprisonment, GBH, blackmail and witness intimidation after the sickening attack last spring.

Kella had a long-running dispute with another man over a sum of money that Kella believed he was owed.

After a chance meeting in the Paddington area on 25 April 2013, Kella lured his victim to a flat in Little Venice.

Once they were inside, Kella tied him upand attacked him with a knife and a dumbbell.

As the victim lay trussed up on the floor with injuries to his face, legs and hands, Kella blindfolded him with a pillow case and told his family that he would chop him up and throw his body in the canal unless they paid him £3,500.

He then took mocking ‘trophy’ photos of the victim trussed up and bleeding on the floor.

The torture lasted two hours. The man managed to escape when Kella left the flat briefly. He jumped from a first floor balcony and members of the public helped him to alert the police.
