Brilliant: Obama Makes Amnesty About Kids

When an animal has been cornered, it no longer has the luxury of available options. When an animal has been cornered, it behaves desperately, because it has little time left, and it has nothing left to lose. It’s a survival instinct. Washington is a jungle, and most of what goes on among politicians is mirrored in animal behavior. It’s territorial, it’s aggressive, it’s coercive. President Obama is engaging in increasingly radical behavior, and I believe it’s a result of how little time he has left, coupled with the fact that people—even the media, in some cases—are catching on to his act.
As the border crisis escalates at an alarming rate, Obama seems to be completely uninterested. Texas Governor Rick Perry invited him to survey the damage at the border, and rather than accept that invitation, Obama decided to attend multiple fundraisers. Oh yeah, those fundraisers? In Texas! According to White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest:
“…there are a whole range of senior officials in this administration over the course of the last three or four weeks who have spent a lot of time in the southwest border…The President has a very good sense of what’s happening on the border…He’s getting regular updates from his officials who have traveled to that region.”
So the president of the United States is more concerned with his coffers than he is with the crisis at the border. Can you imagine if during the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, president Bush had simply refused to survey the damage, while also attending multiple fundraisers in Louisiana? He would have been mobbed. Yet Obama gets away with it.
Obama doesn’t need to survey the border, because in his mind, there isn’t a problem. Obama, and the Democrats have an agenda to transform the voting demographic of the United States by giving citizenship, and eventual voting rights to illegal immigrants. This has posed a problem, however, because of the rising backlash against illegal immigration. So, to fix the problem, Obama has fundamentally altered the situation. Rather than focusing on illegal adults, he has made the crisis about illegal children, and teens.

“The recent surge in illegal immigrant children from Central America came right after Obama unilaterally enacted the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in 2012 that gave temporary amnesty to certain illegal immigrant DREAMers…The Los Angeles Times obtained data from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under a Freedom of Information Act request that indicate ‘the number of immigrants under 18 who were deported or turned away at ports of entry fell from 8,143 in 2008, the last year of the George W. Bush administration, to 1,669 last year.‘”
Obama has changed the law by enacting DACA, which has given people in Central, and South America a reason to send their kids to the United States. The number of illegal immigrants under the age of 18 in the United States has risen sharply following DACA in 2012. It’s becoming a crisis. In addition, Obama is deporting fewer illegal teens, and children than ever before.
By shifting the focus to children, Obama has created the perfect situation. People feel bad for children; they feel a sense of protectiveness toward them. The thought of deporting kids is much more unsettling for most people than deporting adults. This situation now has emotional hooks. For those in the United States who are uninformed, amnesty will seem like the best option, given the circumstances, and the ages of the illegal immigrants.
This is radical behavior, given how careful the president used to be, in terms of covering his tracks. This is brazen. He has very deliberately taken a hot button issue, and turned it on its head–all to his advantage. Yet, with the media still covering for him the majority of the time, even an obviously orchestrated scandal might not have the legs it needs to matter.
This is deliberate, this is perfectly planned, and this is his last shot to advance his amnesty agenda. Will the illegal kids distract everyone from the true nature of the problem—which, by the way, remains exactly the same? Time will tell.
