Spent Tens of Millions On Solar While Veterans Died Without Healthcare

The Veterans Affairs administration has been letting some veterans wait 7 to 8 years for mental healthcare services. In 2011, they spent money on an ad campaign asking veterans for their mental health success stories. They did have the laudable goal of removing the stigma of receiving mental health services but they needn’t have bothered since they weren’t providing the services in half the cases.

The VA didn’t hesitate to spend millions on labor union bosses - they pay them for doing union business during work hours. It’s called “official time.”

Recently, the VA tweeted about the need to save the oceans. They are big on global warming as per Mr. Obama’s instructions, but on veterans’ care, not so much.

Watchdog.org has uncovered a new atrocity at the VA. They spent “at least $420 million on solar panels and windmills” while as many as 1,000 veterans died while they waited for care.

According to a June 3 audit, 100,000 veterans had lengthy wait times for appointments. Of the nation’s 216 VA hospitals, 37 percent will require further investigation, watchdog reported.

Thanks to a whistleblower, we know that while seven patients on the Phoenix VA hospital waiting list died, they spent $20 million on the nation’s largest solar carport. A carport!!! They also had an $11.4 million shortfall.

It should come as no surprise that the executive agencies are run exactly the same way as Mr. Obama runs our overall economy.

While advertising for mental health success stories, they managed to only run 49 percent of first-time patients through a full mental health evaluation within the VA targeted 14-day timeline.

Other VA facilities blew millions on solar panels including Albuquerque which has also done a poor job of caring for veterans.  Check out some of the facilities spending millions on solar on this link.

On their website, the VA touts their lead by example green energy initiative which was ordered by Mr. Obama in 2009. He didn’t notice the bad services he promised to fix in 2007, but he did find the wherewithal to push the green energy programs to solve the alleged climate change crisis.

In 2010 alone, they “proudly announced that we have awarded nearly $78 million in contracts to build solar photovoltaic (PV) systems at VA facilities nationwide.”

They have been putting solar panels up in hospitals, clinics and national cemeteries. Hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars have gone to solar panels in seven facilities in California (Los Angeles, San Diego, Dixon, Martinez, Menlo Park, Monterey, and Sepulveda), three in Florida (Miami, Viera, and Tampa), one in Salt Lake City, and one in Prescott, Arizona. Together with our previously awarded solar PV projects (in Phoenix, Albuquerque, Tucson, Dublin (GA), San Juan (PR), Calverton (NY), Santa Nella (CA), and Riverside (CA)).
