Obama: 'Serious threat' to the U.S. from trained terrorists
6/29/14 10:19 AM EDT
The United States has been “under serious threat” during President Barack Obama’s entire presidency from terrorists, according to the president himself.
In an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, the president highlighted the growing fears that those trained in Middle East terrorist cells can back to Europe or the United States to execute an attack.
“They’re gaining strength in some places. We’ve seen Europeans who are sympathetic to [the terrorist] cause traveling into Syria, and now may travel into Iraq, getting battle hardened. Then they come back, they have European passports, they don't need a visa to get into the United States,” Obama said on “This Week.” “We’re spending a lot of time and we have been for years making sure that we are improving intelligence so we can respond to that.”
Obama added that the United States needs to continue to improve intelligence and reconnaisance to sniff out threats; and he is isn't ruling out doing even more.
"There are going to be times where we take strikes against the organizations that can do us harm," Obama said.
Hawkish Republican Rep. Pete King of New York said Obama should do even more and pressed the president to be “really aggressive” in combatting terrorists trained overseas.
“Any of these people can come back to United States and carry out the type of attack that they’ve been trained on in Syria,” King said.

Perpetuating fear. Be afraid of something we really have no way of stopping/defending against.

If he thinks terrorists are a "serious threat" to the U.S., someone should send him a copy of the papers from 9/11, 2001 so he can read about it already having happened. :bullie smokin:
Abraham Lincoln:

There is no grievance that is a fit object of redress by mob law.
--January 27, 1838 Lyceum Address

Don't interfere with anything in the Constitution. That must be maintained, for it is the only safeguard of our liberties. And not to Democrats alone do I make this appeal, but to all who love these
great and true principles.
--August 27, 1856 Speech at Kalamazoo, Michigan

Let us then turn this government back into the channel in which the framers of the Constitution originally placed it.

That is my fear as well. Something that I have noticed before that our dear and glorious leader had mentioned. Also didn't our dear and glorious leader said that the war on terror is over? That Al Qaeda is on the run?
GOP House members came to Paul Ryan to be Speaker. He didn't come to them. And he was everybody's conservative darling back in 2012. So unless 1 of the remaining 240 wants to step up & do a better job in budgeting & negotiations & herding the party cats, then everybody please STFU. You go to battle with the army you have, not the one you want but don't have.

"'Serious threat' to the U.S. from trained terrorists"

"More serious threat to the USA: the Manchurian-Candidate president..."
