That's nonsense. That's projection of the Christian ideal towards a group of people who are NOT "like us" in any way.
islamics who are devout may be "peaceful", but it is a demand upon the devout muslim to support the concept of jihad against dar al-harb.
Peaceful muslims are like [presently] non-malignant cancer cells. They may not be a danger to the body at this moment, but there is always the chance they may become malignant and attack that body. They want to see that body transformed from dar al-harb into dar al-islam.
The most telling images (and the ones most suppressed) of the September 11th attacks where those showing islamics dancing, and ladies ululating. More than anything, that conveyed to me what the "peaceful" islamics thought of the attacks and the jihadis who carried it out.
