Poland’s Alliance with US Is Worthless Says Prime Minister-Thanks Obama

Another country has been heard from as the U.S. becomes less exceptional under the so-called relationship building president, Barack Hussein Obama. In an illegally taped restaurant conversation by an anonymous “businessman”, a man who sounds like the Polish Prime Minister Radek Sikorski is heard saying Poland’s strong alliance with the U.S. “isn’t worth anything” and is “even harmful because it creates a false sense of security.”

Radek Sikorski

Radek Sikorski, Poland’s Prime Minister

The Poles should have known that in 2009. Almost as soon as Mr. Obama took office, he broke confidence by canceling the nuclear defense shield in Eastern Europe and got nothing in exchange from the Russians.

Now that Russia is amassed on the Ukraine border, he has done nothing more than say he will ask Congress for money to strengthen their defense. There is still no talk about re-instituting the Shield.

The leak was published by a Polish newspaper, Wprost. There are rumors that the tapings of the Minister and other government leaders is an effort to take down the government.

A person identified as Sikorski by the magazine Wprost tells former finance minister, Jacek Rostowski, that Poles naively believe the U.S. bolsters their security. Using vulgar language, the person argues that such beliefs are nonsense, and that the Polish-U.S. alliance alienates the Russians and Germans.

As Buzzfeed reports, the tape also includes one indiscreet moment in which the alleged voice of Sikorski remarks that Poland is “gonna conflict with both Russians and Germans, and we’re going to think that everything is great, because we gave the Americans a blowjob.”

Will we soon push the Poles towards Russia? Why not? We either push countries towards the Muslim Brotherhood, Iran or Russia. We certainly can’t be trusted. Mr. Obama knows this, appears to embrace it and seemingly wants to enshrine the concept so we can become a mere cog within the UN’s governing body. That would be his idea of justice.

The Polish government is currently pushing for NATO troops to be stationed in Poland as the crisis in Ukraine continues to escalate. Our do-nothing president is responding with the usual alacrity.

Minister Sikorski tweeted following the exerts being revealed, Sunday morning, that “Wprost is lying about a meeting with Jacek Rostowski at Sowa & Przyjaciele [the restaurant where previous recordings had been made]. Never in my life have I been to that restaurant”.

Wprost magazine’s Michał Majewski immediately tweeted in reply that the alleged recording had been made, not at ‘Sowa and Przyjaciele’ but at the ‘Amber Room’ eatery.

Later in the tapes, recorded sometime in the spring of 2014, Sikorski, who is a deputy leader of the ruling centre-right Civic Platform, describes the mentality of Poles in general as suffering from “Murzyńskość” – a derogatory and racially-unacceptable term.

“The problem in Poland is that we have very shallow pride and low self-esteem,” adds Poland’s foreign minister, who has been put forward by the government as a candidate for EU foreign policy chief.

Many in the government are quickly separating themselves from Sikorski and the comments.

Wprost has more transcripts from the tapes coming out and promises to keep publishing. They have turned their tapes over to government prosecutors.
