"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim tribute to patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness -- these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. . . . reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principles."
George Washington

"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters."
Benjamin Franklin

He's one of the original crew of Private Eye (a satirical fortnightly magazine that has some of the finest investigative journalists in the world) and still contributes. George Monbiot hates him with a passion.

He's pretty legit, in other words, though he'll sometimes put a well turned phrase or analogy ahead of accuracy in his articles.

Earning the passionate hatred of gutter trash like Monbiot is a good resume enhancer in my book!

"When future generations try to understand how the world got carried away around the end of the 20th century by the panic over global warming, few things will amaze them more than the part played in stoking up the scare by the fiddling of official temperature data," Booker, author of "The Real Global Warming Disaster," wrote in a column for The Sunday Telegraph of London.

They'll never come right out and say that 'scientists' with agendas lied to suit their own self-interests.

Who will the atheists venerate if not 'science' and 'scientists'?

The legal system?

The legal system?

There's a reason they call it the 'legal system' and not the justice system...
