Suspended Yankee Alex Rodriguez has dropped the medical malpractice lawsuit he filed against the team's doctor, Christopher Ahmad and New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center, according to court papers filed in Bronx Supreme Court late Thursday.

The lawsuit was the last remaining legal action that Rodriguez was pursuing, after he dropped lawsuits filed against Major League Baseball, baseball commissioner Bud Selig, and the Players Association earlier this year. Rodriguez was banned for the entire 2014 season in connection for his involvement with the Biogenesis doping scandal. He was originally banned for 211 games, but that amount was reduced to 162 games (and the 2014 postseason) by an independent arbitrator after A-Rod appealed.

During his arbitration hearing last fall, Rodriguez filed the malpractice suit, claiming that during the 2012 American League playoffs, Ahmad did not properly read an MRI of Rodriguez's left hip and did not properly diagnose a left hip injury. Rodriguez had left hip surgery in January of 2013.
