 Conform or walk.

The South Carolina DMV says its workers did not do anything wrong when they forced a gender non-conforming teen to remove his makeup before he could take his driver's license picture on March 3.

"If your name is David Jones and it says you are a male, then you should look like a male," South Carolina DMV spokeswoman Beth Parks told the Daily News.

Chase Culpepper, 16, who prefers male pronouns, identifies as gender non-conforming and regularly wears female clothing and makeup. But staff at the DMV in his hometown of Anderson accused him of wearing a disguise.

Parks says the workers did "what they are required to do" and were "just following DMV policy."
