In the middle of the night 4 thugs broke into a family home in New Port Richey, Florida.  These are three of them:

Home invasions are happening more and more frequently. A big reason is when you are away and set your alarm, their time is limited because they know the police are on their way. They are going to hit the master bedroom grab what they can and get out quick. Gain is low, risk is high.

 But if they catch you at home, and incapacitate you they have all the time in the word.   There profit skyrockets, having a lot more time to go through each room. Far more likely to clean you out.   
This is why if you carry away from home, why the hell  are you not carrying at home as well?   You are probably more likely to face a home invasion than you are being mugged in  a Wallmart parking lot.
