The full horror of the jihadists’ savage victories in Iraq emerged yesterday as witnesses told of streets lined with decapitated soldiers and policemen.

Blood-soaked bodies and blazing vehicles were left in the wake of the Al Qaeda-inspired ISIS fanatics as they pushed the frontline towards Baghdad.

They boasted about their triumphs in a propaganda video depicting appalling scenes including a businessman being dragged from his car and executed at the roadside with a pistol to the back of his head. The extent of the carnage came as:

    Images from captured cities such as Mosul and Tikrit showed deserted streets, burnt out vehicles and discarded uniforms left by government troops fleeing the brutal fanatics;
    ISIS leaders urged their bloodthirsty followers to continue their march and warned that battle would rage in Baghdad and in the holy city of Karbala;
    Thousands of residents in the capital answered a call to arms to repel the invaders amid fears the government’s own troops were not up to the job;
    Aid groups warned of a new refugee crisis after half a million terrified Iraqis left their homes to escape the jihadists.

I used this word on another thread.

Catastrophe.

The unofficial Bush Doctrine, but often stated, was to establish a presence in the Middle East which would lead to stability across the region.  Our narcissistic punk president (no caps), has politicized policy and destroyed the gains made, and provided a vacuum for even worse.  Now, he watches.

I can't imagine having lost a loved one there or to see a loved one maimed physically or emotionally from being there.

Catastrophe.

And it is just the beginning.

And the only meme from the Left is how Obama ended that war and there is no way the American people will stand for another.

Obama has already insinuated that the Iraqis are on their own.

It is absoltuely a catastrophe, and an avoidable one. Let's see how Obama escapes responsibility for this one.
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

And, it is difficult to imagine that this all happens by incompetence alone.  There are still some very smart people near the power centers for advice and counsel.  No, this is someone who has opened wide corridors for this to happen.  Compare our presence in the region from one year to the next since Obama took office.  Look at Russia's.  Look at the "Lead From Behind" policies in Libya and Egypt.  Look at the approach to Iran's nuclear aspirations.  Consider how we treat Israel in rhetoric and deed.

No, this is not just a bumbling idiot.  It is worse.

This is fast-becoming a rout in Iraq.

It will end up more fundamentalist and totalitarian than Iran in a matter of months (if not sooner).

If the USA has any priorities at all (and I'm wondering if this administration does), job number one should be getting every last American out of there as soon as humanly possible.

I wonder how many Americans captured by ISIS are going to end up becoming well-publicized "examples"... of you-know-what...

No, this is not just a bumbling idiot.  It is worse.

It is worse. It is the product of an intentional policy.

A policy promulgated by an American President.

God help us.
