A priest was fatally shot at a Catholic church and another was left critically injured on Wednesday, police in Phoenix said.

Officers found the victims while responding to reports of a burglary around 9 p.m. local time at the Mother of Mercy Mission, NBC station KPNX reported.

Phoenix Police Department spokesman Sgt. Steve Martos confirmed that one victim had been killed while another was being treated at hospital.

"We are in the preliminary stages of the investigation at this time," Martos added.

Hey, EC, want to bet this won't be on the news tonight or barely covered at best? :headbang:
