LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL

Two Las Vegas police officers were shot Sunday inside a pizza restaurant in the area of Nellis Boulevard and Stuard Avenue in the northeast valley, according to the department.

Witnesses at the scene also reported hearing shots fired in quick succession as if from an automatic weapon inside a WalMart store at 201 North Nellis Blvd., and saw people running from the store.

The officers’ conditions were not immediately available. The shooters were still at large as of noon. Metro’s SWAT team is there. Police have cordoned off most of the store parking lot.

Several lanes of traffic near Nellis and Stuart are closed. Nevada Highway Patrol is also on scene.

This is a developing story. Check back for details.

3 dead in shooting at Vegas restaurant, Walmart

AOL News

Two suspects shot and critically injured two police officers at a Las Vegas pizza restaurant Sunday before fatally shooting a third person and killing themselves inside a nearby Walmart, investigators said.

The spree began around 11:30 a.m. Sunday when a man and woman walked into CiCi's Pizza and shot two officers who were eating lunch, Las Vegas police spokesman Larry Hadfield said.

One of the suspects yelled, "This is a revolution," but the motive for the shooting remains under investigation, Hadfield said.

The two suspects then fled to the Walmart across the street, where they shot a person inside and then killed themselves in an apparent suicide pact, Hadfield said.

The condition of the two officers was not immediately known, he said, but an update would be provided later Sunday.

"I think in any case where people are ambushed and shot it's upsetting to the public," Hadfield told The Associated Press. "We don't know anything about the suspects yet and are trying to learn more."

The names of the suspects and victims and their cause of death will be released by the Clark County coroner's office.

The restaurant and Walmart remained closed as detectives processed evidence.
A political motive? Can't wait for authorities to identify the perps.

Edit: Some reports say five dead - both cops, the person inside Walmart and the two criminals. Also seeing comments to the effect that someone with a concealed carry permit helped stop the rampage. (Can't get the link to open)

Washington (AFP) - Two Las Vegas police officers and a civilian were killed Sunday in an apparent ambush that ended with the two gunmen killing themselves, local media reported Sunday.

One of the attackers yelled "This is the start of a revolution" before shooting the officers and stripping them of their weapons and ammunition, the Las Vegas Review-Journal said.

Two officers were shot by the gunmen -- a man and a woman -- as they ate lunch at CiCi's Pizza, it said, citing police sources. One of the officers died at the scene, while the second subsequently died in surgery.

The attackers then headed to a nearby Walmart store, exchanging gunfire with and ultimately killing a civilian who was carrying a concealed weapon. ...

First, let me say this is why if you can carry legally then do it. Not just when you think you are entering harms way but always.  Because it is the most unlikely places and times these things happen.

We had four officers ambushed the same way here in Washington back in 2009. Just sitting down having coffee at a coffee shop and in walks a guy who walks up to them and fires at them point blank killing all four.  One of the saddest days in my life was attending their memorial with thousands of others. When they played the last radio call for all four there wasn't a dry eye in the stadium.

The pair who fatally shot two Las Vegas police officers and one civilian before taking their own lives Sunday are believed to be a married couple who possessed white supremacist paraphernalia and spoke of targeting police officers.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported late Sunday that officers were searching a small apartment complex about four miles from the Cici's Pizza restaurant where the officers were killed.

The identities of the suspects have not been released, but a law enforcement official close to the investigation told the Review-Journal that the suspects were married, in their 20s, and new to the area. The paper reported that investigators found swastika symbols during their search of the apartment.

Neighbor Krista Koch described the couple as "militant," saying they talked about planning to kill police officers, as well as "going underground" and not coming out until the time was right.

Another neighbor, Brandon Monroe, said the man who lived in the apartment often talked about conspiracy theories and often dressed in camouflage or as Peter Pan.

If it were any other network, I'd call BS at once. I do tend to give Fox the benefit of the doubt.

Quote
Two Las Vegas police officers were killed Sunday in what appears to be a politically motivated ambush in a pizza restaurant that spilled over to a nearby Wal-Mart, where the two shooters committed suicide after killing a woman in the store.

Details are sketchy, but Metropolitan Police Department sources close to the investigation say the shooters shouted that “this is the start of a revolution” before opening fire on the officers, and draped their bodies with cloth showing a Revolutionary War-era flag. Investigators have also found paraphernalia associated with white supremacists.

Sunday night, Metro homicide investigators and FBI agents cordoned off and were searching a small apartment complex at 110 S. Bruce St., about four miles from the shooting scene. A resident of the complex said he had spoken with a man who lived in the apartment being searched. He said the man appeared “militant,” and often talked about conspiracy theories.

An explosion was heard at the apartment complex at about 9:30 p.m., but no information was immediately available Sunday night.

Sheriff Doug Gillespie said officers Alyn Beck, 41, and Igor Soldo, 31, were shot while they ate lunch at CiCi’s Pizza, 309 N. Nellis Blvd., at about 11:20 a.m. Sunday. In a late afternoon news conference he said no motive for the attack has been determined.

“It’s a tragic day,” the sheriff said. “We have lost two officers with young families.”

Beck was a senior patrol officer who had taught Advanced Officer Skills Training and at the Metro academy. He was hired by Metro in 2001 and had a wife and three children.

Soldo has been a Metro officer since 2006 and had a wife and baby. Both were uniform patrol officers assigned to the Northeast Area Command.

THE ATTACK

A law enforcement official who has been briefed on the incident said an officer — unconfirmed reports indicate it was Soldo — was refilling a soft drink when the female shooter approached him from behind and shot him in the head, killing him instantly.

The woman then shot the other officer several times as he drew his pistol. Gillespie said the officer was able to return fire but it was unclear if he hit anyone.

One officer was reported dead at the scene, while the other died later in surgery at University Medical Center.

Witnesses told police one of the shooters yelled “This is the start of a revolution” before shooting the officers. Gillespie later said he could not confirm that.

The shooters then stripped the officers of their weapons and ammunition and badges, according to a law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation. They then covered the officers with something that featured the Gadsden flag, a yellow banner with a coiled snake above the words, “Don’t tread on Me.”

The flag is named for Christopher Gadsden a Revolutionary War general who designed it. It has recently come back in vogue as an adopted symbol of the American tea party movement.

The shooters left the pizza parlor and headed into the Wal-Mart across the street at 201 North Nellis. Witnesses at the scene reported hearing shots fired in quick succession inside the Wal-Mart.

At a news conference at about 1 p.m. Assistant Sheriff Kevin McMahill said the male shooter, described as a tall white man, yelled “everyone get out” before shooting.

One unconfirmed report is that the two exchanged gunfire with a citizen who was carrying a concealed weapon, and that one of the shooters was injured.

A woman was shot and killed just inside the front doors of the Wal-Mart. Her name has not yet been released.

As Metro officers entered the front and back doors of the store they exchanged gunfire with the shooters, Gillespie said.

The female shooter then shot her accomplice at least once before shooting herself in the head, a law enforcement official said. The wounded man then shot and killed himself. Their identities have not been released by police.

Both shooters were reportedly carrying large duffle bags, and a bomb squad was called to the scene. It’s unclear what, if anything, was found in the bags. A fire department official said the bomb squad response was “a precaution.”

Hector Garcia was shopping in Wal-Mart’s arts and crafts aisle toward the back of the store when he encountered a man brandishing a gun. He looked like he was in his 20s, was wearing camouflage and had a duffle bag draped over his shoulder.

He said the shooter appeared calm when he pointed the gun at him and said, “Don’t run.” The gunman, Garcia said, continued walking to the back of the store. Garcia said that store employees were evacuating customers through the back of the store.

After the gunman walked out of sight, Garcia walked out of the store. Garcia said he was shaken up and couldn’t remember what kind of gun the man carried.

THE SHOOTERS

The shooters were a married couple thought to be in their late 20s who were new to the Las Vegas Valley, according to a law enforcement official close to the investigation. Police are looking into their links to the white supremacy movement and found swastika symbols during their initial investigation.

Residents of the Bruce Street apartment complex gathered outside the building to talk about the couple whose unit was being searched.

The Gadsden Flag was a nice touch. Maybe they got it from Harry Reid.

They're identified as Jerad and Amanda Miller, who had a criminal history, as mug shots were in the system.

White supremacist cop-killers wanted ‘the next Columbine’
By David K. Li
June 9, 2014 | 10:51am
NY Post (photos at link)
Quote
The husband-and-wife team who ambushed two Las Vegas police officers were racist, anti-government radicals who openly vowed to kill cops and commit mass murder — and may have been planning an even larger attack.

Vegas neighbors of Jerad, 31, and Amanda Miller, 22 — who moved to Sin City earlier this year from Lafayette, Ind. — said they were vocal about their hatred of minorities and government.

(Video emerged Monday of Miller crying over a “new world order.”)

“They were handing out white-power propaganda and were talking about doing the next Columbine,” Brandon Moore told the Las Vegas Sun, referencing the 1999 Colorado school massacre that ended in 15 deaths.

Even before Sunday’s slayings, the scary pair talked up a murder-suicide plan.

“They always talked about murdering cops,” neighbor Krista Koch told KTNV in Las Vegas. “They were going to kill as many officers as they can, and then they were going to do away with themselves.”

The couple’s neighbor, Kelley Fielder, had been holding a box of documents, three empty rifle cases and an empty box for handcuffs, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal. The papers, which have been seized by police, disclosed the couple’s deadly plans to take over a courthouse and execute public officials.

Fielder called the Millers her “best friends” but said she didn’t know they were “that crazy,” according to the Review-Journal.

Jerad Miller’s last Facebook posting, made Saturday, seemed to forecast his own doom.

“The dawn of a new day. May all of our coming sacrifices be worth it,” he wrote.

On June 2, Miller posted a rambling manifesto calling for a bloody uprising.

“We can hope for peace. We must, however, prepare for war. We face an enemy that is not only well funded, but who believe they fight for freedom and justice,” he wrote.

“Those of us who know the truth and dare speak it, know that the enemy we face are indeed our brothers. Even though they share the same masters as we all do. They fail to recognize the chains that bind them. To stop this oppression, I fear, can only be accomplished with bloodshed.”

He said it’s better to die fighting for freedom than to die “kneeling as slaves.”

“May the best men of our beloved nation stand and fight tyranny, without fear and without regret. May we stand proud as free men instead of kneeling as slaves,” Jerad Miller wrote.

“May we offer our children a free and just world with our blood, sweat and tears as payment. Let our wives and lovers take vengeance upon our enemies in our absence. We cannot fail in this endeavor of Liberty, if we do we risk leaving our orphaned children to the will of tyrants.”

Amanda Miller’s Facebook profile picture is a creepy image of her and Jerad Miller, posted on April 28. They’re dressed as the Joker and his comic gal pal Harley Quinn.

“Damn babe we are Hot! Harley and Joker got nothing on us lol,” Jerad Miller wrote.

The duo had also boasted about spending time with Cliven Bundy, during the standoff between government agents and militia members supporting the rancher. But they were rejected because he was a felon, according to a Jerad Miller Google+ posting cited by the Review-Journal.

“The ideas they were expounding are core to the anti-government, patriot movement,” said Ryan Lenz, a rep for the Southern Poverty Law Center. “They did escalate their rhetoric [in recent times], they were planning to do something.”

Indiana officials are coordinating with Vegas investigators to track the couple’s movements.

“We were contacted in the early morning hours by Clark County (Nevada) Coroner’s Office asking us to follow up with possible relatives here,” Lafayette Police Chief Pat Flannelly said, the Indianapolis Star reported. “We have information they were here for a time. … They have ties to the area.”

Officers Alyn Beck, 41, and Igor Soldo, 31, were having lunch at CiCi’s Pizza restaurant at about 11:20 a.m. when one of the two shooters yelled, “This is the start of the revolution,” officials said.

The female assailant then came up from behind Soldo and shot him in the head, law enforcement sources told the Review-Journal.

Amanda Miller then opened fire on Beck, mortally wounding him, sources told the paper. Beck managed to squeeze off return fire, but it was unclear if he hit them.

Both killers then grabbed weapons, ammunition and badges off their victims before covering them in cloth that featured the Revolutionary War-era Gadsden flag.

It’s a yellow banner with the image of a coiled rattlesnake and the words: “Don’t tread on me.”

In recent years, that flag has become of a favorite symbol of conservatives, who believe the government is intruding on their rights. One local report said they put a swastika-emblazoned manifesto on one of the bodies.

Investigators believe the couple might be tied to radical groups because of white supremacy paraphernalia and swastikas found in their apartment, according to local media reports.

Local police officers and FBI agents cordoned off an apartment complex where the couple lived, about four miles from the carnage.

An explosion was heard at that complex at 9:20 p.m., but it wasn’t clear if anyone was hurt or if the blast was tied to the shootings 10 hours earlier.

“It’s a tragic day,” Sheriff Doug Gillespie said.

“But we still have a community to police, and we still have a community to protect. We will be out there doing it with our heads held high, but with an emptiness in our hearts.”

For the time being, cops who generally work alone are being paired up with another officer, Gillespie said.

After murdering Beck and Soldo, the two walked across the street to Walmart, where they gunned down a shopper just inside the front doors, officials said.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the bystander killed at Wal-Mart as Joseph Robert Wilcox, 31, of Las Vegas.

The male suspect yelled “Everyone get out” before the shooting at Walmart, Assistant Sheriff Kevin McMahill said.

The assailants exchanged fire with responding cops before Amanda Miller killed her partner and then turned the gun on herself, law enforcement sources said.

Walmart shopper Pauline Pacheco spotted the armed man inside the store before she and her dad ran for their lives.

“We saw when the man was walking, he was shouting, yelling bad words, and suddenly he had a gun,” she told KLAS-TV. “It was terrible, it was terrible. That man was crazy.”

Both officers were pronounced dead at University Medical Center.

Beck had been on the job since 2001, leaving behind a wife and three kids.

Soldo joined the department in 2006 and had a wife and an infant child.

Gov. Brian Sandoval called the slayings an “act of senseless violence.”

Mayor Carolyn Goodman said Sunday’s attack was a “cruel act” and praised the officers for dedicating “their lives to protecting all of us in our community.”

Police ushered Walmart employees and shoppers to a nearby women’s clothing store so they could be interviewed by investigators.

This investigation is “very complex” because it involves more than 1,000 witnesses, according to McMahill.
There you have it, folks. "Patriot"? You're just like these two losers.

Alex Jones Thinks Government Staged Alex Jones Fans’ Vegas Shooting

Alex Jones has a history of calling attacks of all stripes that happen in this country “false flag” operations. He did it with the Boston Marathon bombing and the Washington Navy Yard shooting. And now he’s at it again.

During his InfoWars.com radio show Monday, Jones accused the U.S. government of staging the Las Vegas shooting allegedly committed by Jerad and Amanda Miller that left two police officers and one civilian dead over the weekend in an attempt to smear conservatives before the midterm elections.

Police: Armed Civilian Who Confronted Las Vegas Attackers Is a 'Hero'

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/06/09/Police-Armed-Civilian-Who-Confronted-Las-Vegas-Attackers-Is-A-Hero

When Jerad and Amanda Miller arrived at Wal-Mart after killing two police officers at CiCi's Pizza, they were confronted by concealed carry permit holder Joseph Robert Wilcox, whom police describe as a "hero."

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, a police official said 31-year-old Wilcox "was legally carrying a concealed pistol" and confronted Jerad without knowing Amanda was with him.

Amanda "was pushing a shopping cart" and "lying in wait" for Wilcox. She got in "behind Wilcox and shot him at close range."

The official said, "He had no idea the wife was walking behind him. This guy (Wilcox) was not some idiot with a gun. To me, he was a hero. He was trying to stop an active shooter."

MSNBC: Vegas Cop-Killers were White, Racist, “Anti-Government” Right-Wing Extremists

Posted By Mark Horne on Jun 11, 2014 | 1 Comment
dont tread on me

They’ve really gone overboard this time. I mean, more than usual. I’m almost beginning to agree with Alex Jones that this cop-killing was completely staged just so that the police and the media could tie their crime to white conservatives who criticize big government and who support the 2nd Amendment.

If these acts had been carried out by say, a black Democrat, who happened to write a manifesto about how he agreed 100% with Piers Morgan on gun control, and how he loved Hillary Clinton, things would have been very different. Oh, wait. That actually did happen. Remember that guy, Chris Dorner? He was an embittered LAPD cop who went on a shooting spree, killing a few cops. He was a cop-killer. But because he was a black Democrat who loved gun control, the media sympathized with him and made him out to be some kind of hero.

In case you’re not familiar with what happened in Las Vegas, here’s the rundown. A young married couple, Jerad and Amanda Miller, walked into a CiCi’s Pizza, declared something like, “This is the start of a revolution!” and shot and killed two cops. They allegedly draped a Gadsden flag – that yellow, “Don’t Tread on Me” flag – as well as a swastika over one of the dead bodies. On the other, they pinned a note that read, “The revolution is beginning.”

They then went into a Wal-Mart nearby and ended up killing an armed customer who was about to act on them. After a police standoff and brief shootout, Amanda shot and killed her husband before killing herself.

If these two don’t sound like your average white conservatives, then you’re not paying attention. Where would we be without the mainstream media to make every known connection of these two murderers to anything resembling white conservatives?

You like that? They used a Gadsden flag, a flag that’s been popularized in recent years by the Tea Party movement. They talked about a “revolution.” They “hated” the government and the police. On Facebook, they “liked” the 2nd Amendment, Ron Paul, Rand Paul, the NRA, the Patriot party, the American Patriot Media Network, Allen West, Legalize Weed, the Washington Examiner, Judge Andrew Napolitano, Heritage Foundation and FreedomWorks. Seeing a rather long and convenient pattern here?

Amanda apparently worked for the needlework department over at Hobby Lobby; Jerad apparently loved listening to Alex Jones; they both apparently went to support Cliven Bundy on his ranch. On that last item, what MSNBC won’t tell you is that they were kicked out for trying to start something violent. They seem more like provocateurs. Alex Jones is sounding a little less crazy, right?

His own father said the kid “campaigned for Obama”,    and then got caught up in Government hate. They are trying to apply the Tea Party label on him, but believe me, he is closer aligned with the bozo  with the Guy Fawkes mask we all saw at the Occupy protest than with Sarah Palin.  In fact he is polar opposites of Sarah Palin or Ted Cruise, or any other Tea Party supporter I ever met.

The Guy Fawkes mask is so 10 minutes ago.  It's like a matched set with the "Ché" "T" and the outdated Mao quotes.  It's the non-conformists conformity.
Why?  Well, because I'm a bastard, that's why.

Wonder if they were involved in the Occupy 'movement'.

And on another topic. Notice that the authorities are withholding the name of the teen shooter in Oregon.

Yeah, you'd think they would have walked into Walmart and started shooting blacks, Hispanics and Asians if white supremacy really was the basis of their hatred.
