Scandal: VA Employee Describes Patients Lying in Feces for Hours (Video)

Thursday, June 5th, 2014 by Jim Hoft

On Tuesday Progressives Today posted a firsthand account of the lax care at the St. Louis VA at Jefferson Barracks. Evita Simone Allen visited the St. Louis VA medical center at Jefferson Barracks to tend to an ailing uncle. “Vita” spoke exclusively to Progressives Today about the filth, feces, urine and trash she saw piled up in her uncle’s room at the VA.

The St. Louis VA apologized to Evita Allen on Wednesday.

This week another concerned family member and VA employee spoke with Progressives Today about their experience with the St. Louis VA at Jefferson Barracks and other facilities. The employee described alleged mistreatment of veterans in St. Louis.

The employee watched as patients were left in feces for hours and vomit sat on the floor in the waiting area.

At one point the employee broke down describing the treatment of her veteran father.

"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim tribute to patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness -- these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. . . . reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principles."
George Washington

"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters."
Benjamin Franklin
