CEO of Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. Blasts “Anti-Business” Obama

CKE CEO Andy Puzder is used to running a business. What he’s not used to is having to navigate the corrupt and crooked halls of Washington, D.C. H and other business owners/operators are getting tired of having their interests interfered with by the Obama administration, which seems hell-bent on destroying the American economy.
“Basically, everything this administration has done has been anti-business,” Puzder told Fox Business anchor Stuart Varney.
Varney: What’s the single biggest reason, guys like you, employers, are not hiring?
Puzder: I think it’s very difficult to come up with business models that justify the investment you need to make to create jobs when the government keeps increasing the expenses associated with running a business. You increase taxes, you reduce after tax profits. You increase healthcare costs, with Obamacare. You increase labor costs. You increase fuel costs with the war on carbon fuels. Now they want to increase labor with minimum wage, on top of that you’ve got this almost unnavigable regulatory maze that’s been created over the past 6 years. And, it’s very hard to create those business models that justify investing to create more jobs.
Varney: What will you do if the minimum wage goes to 10 or 15 dollars?
puzderPuzder: I think you’ll see a lot of restaurants closing. I don’t think restaurants can operate profitable if they’re paying a $15 an hour minimum wage. I think you would see a devastating impact to the country. In fact, even the 10 dollar minimum wage increase that President Obama is talking about, the CBO said that would destroy 500,000 jobs!
Varney: Does the President have an “anti-business” attitude?
Puzder: Basically, everything this administration has done has been anti-business.
Make sure to listen to the whole thing as the conversation really gets to the heart of why businesses aren’t hiring and the economy isn’t growing.
Our economic problems do not all lay at the feet of President Obama. But he sure hasn’t done anything to help solve our woes. Instead of doing the things that could begin to revive our economy, the President and the Democrat Party have stifled our economy at every turn. Practically speaking, every decision they’ve made in the last six years has actually hindered economic growth. From raising taxes, to creating the monstrous money-sucking healthcare system we call Obamacare, to slowing down energy production and standing in the way of the Keystone pipeline, to the various debacles in the Middle East and Russia.
At almost every turn the Democrat Party has been there to punch economic recovery in the face.
We need a change in philosophy and action in Washington, D.C. We need someone who will support businesses and economic growth instead of looking to attack employers and investors whenever they get the chance.
