Hacks: CBS Covers VA Scandal . . . Doesn’t Mention Obama’s Name Once
05.29.2014 | Jerome Hudson | 0

File this one under media bias.

By now everyone has heard about the widespread corruption at VA hospitals and facilities across the country. CBS News covered the VA scandal and in classic Lapdog Media form they failed to mention Obama’s name.

And it’s not as if there’s a reason to give Obama a pass for this mess.

After all, presidential candidate Obama said, the VA will be the “leader of healthcare reform.” And a year earlier Obama said, “After seven years of an Administration that has stretched our military to the breaking point, ignored deplorable conditions at some VA hospitals, and neglected the planning and preparation necessary to care for our returning heroes, America’s veterans deserve a President who will fight for them not just when it’s easy or convenient, but every hour of every day for the next four years.”

There’s no doubt that if 1,700 veterans in need of care were purposely kept off an official waiting list, or some 40 vets had died waiting for care, or if our vets had an average 115-day wait for a first appointment under a Republican President his or her name (and rightfully so) would be plastered all over the news in relation to those failures.

But not Obama.

He’s the smartest President to ever serve but is also, somehow, absolved of all responsibilities whenever something goes wrong–even when he campaigned on fixing the problem.

There is danger from all men. The only maxim of a free government ought to be to trust no man living with power to endanger the public liberty.
Public virtue cannot exist in a nation without private, and public virtue is the only foundation of republics. There must be a positive passion for the public good, the public interest, honour, power and glory, established in the minds of the people, or there can be no republican government, nor any real liberty: and this public passion must be superior to all private passions.
