http://ulstermanbooks.com/barack-obama-to-finalize-executive-order-against-coal-power-on-june-2nd/Flying well under the proverbial radar is the considerable expansion on Big Government federal authority via the Environmental Protection Agencies’ latest assault upon the U.S. coal energy industry – a move that has been years in the making, and likely funded in part by Saudi oil interests.

link“On June 2, Obama will to unveil a new set of federal regulations on power plants, designed primarily to keep coal-fired plants from spewing so much carbon into the atmosphere. The hope is that these new regulations will slow down climate change—at first incrementally, by reducing emissions from existing plants in the U.S., and then more dramatically, by providing the Administration with more leverage to negotiate a far-reaching, international treaty on emissions from multiple sources.”
Note the emphasis on the international treaty “leverage”. Readers of the Mac Walker series should hear a bit of an alarm bell right about now.
Treaties require two-thirds of the Senate’s approval, something Barack Obama cannot accomplish. His administration is now bypassing that longstanding approval requirement via the new, (and illegal) use of the EPA.
This will not stand, particularly if Republicans take the Senate following the 2014 Midterm Elections. This will set up a major political battle in 2015 that will pit all of Congress against the Executive Branch as some fight for the continued autonomy of the United States, and the health and well being of domestic energy production in America, while others hope to cede that autonomy to international authority.
