Dems in ‘Deep Trouble’ Says Harry Reid

Posted By Dave Jolly on May 26, 2014 | 0 Comments

Would you believe that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid may have finally told the truth about something?

Friday night, Reid sent out a fundraising email with the subject line ‘Deep Trouble.’ In the email, Reid states:

“The polls say it better than I ever could: We need you to make a contribution BEFORE MIDNIGHT TONIGHT.”

Reid then writes about four key senate races where the Democrats are in very close races with their Republican challengers. The races are in Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado and North Carolina. After pointing out the four races and candidates involved, Reid shares that Karl Rove, a conservative Republican strategist has raised donations of $1.7 million up to $3.5 million for each of the GOP senate candidates, saying:

“Karl Rove’s $10 million spending spree could put Republicans in the driver’s seat in the four states he’s targeting.”

“Polling is close in 11 states, and only six seats protect us from Republican control over everything from health care reform to the Supreme Court. We’re matching all contributions 3-to-1 – but only until midnight tonight.”

“If we hit our goal tonight, that money will be answering attacks in Senate battlegrounds like North Carolina and Colorado come tomorrow morning.”

“But if we fall short, Rove could seize the momentum – and we might not have time to get it back. Only you can stop Karl Rove and the Republicans…. This is a key moment in our fight to keep our majority strong.”

Yes, Harry Reid is right that Democrats are in deep trouble. In the last midterm election, the Democrats lost control of the House. Now they are facing the real possibility of losing control of the Senate as well. If Republicans can wrestle just 6 senates seats away from the Democrats, Harry Reid will lose his power as Majority Leader.

Better yet, President Barack Obama would lose his control of Congress. With Republicans controlling both the House and Senate, it would be easier to impeach, Obama, US Attorney General Eric Holder and a number of liberal federal judges. They could also repeal Obamacare with the individual and employer mandates. Republicans could, and I hope they would, force a balanced budget and start making severe cuts in federal spending, such as the elimination of the Education Department and replace the current federal income tax system with a flat tax that is fair to all.

Will 2014 be the hoped for sequel to 2010? Guess we’ll find out in less than 5 ½ months.
