All this apparent unawareness before the fact led Charles Krauthammer to argue on Special Report today that Obama acts like he “stumbled upon the presidency” only to be shocked by how much wrong there really is.
He lightly mocked the idea that Obama is “madder than hell” about the scandal, and said the president can’t seriously keep claiming he learned about a wide number of government scandals just by listening to media reports.
“He acts as if––it was the same with the IRS, eavesdropping on the AP, and all the other scandals, the Obamacare launch––he stumbled upon the presidency and discovered all this horrible stuff is happening. He’s in charge of these departments. At some point, you’ve gotta ask, ‘Where has he been, and where is the competence, the elementary competence, he promised when he ran in 2008?’”
