American Monarchy: Who Died And Made Them King?

Journalist Glenn Greenwald told GQ Magazine, on 13 May, 2014, “Americans love to mock the idea of monarchy, and yet we have our own de facto monarchy. I think what these [Snowden] leaks did is, they demonstrated that there really is this government that just is the kind of permanent government that doesn’t get affected by election choices and that isn’t in any way accountable to any sort of democratic transparency.”

George Mason said, at the closing of the Constitutional Convention on 15 September, 1787, “This government will [commence as] a moderate aristocracy: it is at present impossible to foresee whether it will, in its operation, produce a monarchy, or a corrupt, tyrannical aristocracy.”

I believe that the NSA’s actions, exposed by Greenwald, rise to the level of “corrupt” and “tyrannical” making Mason’s description even more relevant than Greenwald’s. But what about this monarchy and its corrupt oppression, should average Americans concern themselves with this threat or just continue ignoring it alongside our $212 trillion debt? To answer that question let’s analyze a current event: The 2014 election cycle.

We have heard from our media masters that the Establishment Republicans — which includes their various consultant retainers — want revenge for the electoral beatings they endured in 2010 and 2012 at the hands of the tea party. I take this to mean that the king’s treasury was only half-heartedly protected — by men who thought it OK to allow the provincials to attend the more pedestrian events that the courtiers, i.e. the establishment, host. Very little in the way of gold, silver, or fiat currency was placed at risk on these occasions; it remained tucked in a vault guarded by the knights of the Federal Reserve.

Before proceeding, let’s change our terminology to more accurately reflect what is going on in our monarchy today. Mason was correct in predicting a “Corrupt, Tyrannical Aristocracy” and that is precisely what establishment types should be called: “Corrupt Tyrannical Aristocrats,” or CTA’s for short. For the sake of an example, the GOP side of “the establishment” took in a combined $1 BILLION to help elect King Mitt in 2012.

What does any of this have to do with the 2014 election cycle? I’ll tell you what: $3.9 trillion in annual treasure was going to be placed at serious risk if the tea partiers were elected. And there were several bona fide threats via the United States Senate, Dr. Greg Brannon in NC and Dwayne Stovall in TX. Both have been defeated and sent back to their villages to produce revenue for the King and his CTA’s, but their stories are still relevant because they demonstrate my theory that the CTA’s domain, the American government, exists as a living, breathing, organism. And just like any life form, when threatened, the CTA will do what it has to to extend and protect its life.

In his 2009 essay and pamphlet  “America’s Ruling Class,” Angelo Codevilla accurately described the phenomenon of the CTA, which I should note at this juncture, is a bi-partisan problem. “No prominent Republican challenged the ruling class’s continued claim of superior insight, nor its denigration of the American people as irritable children who must learn their place. The Republican Party did not disparage the ruling class, because most of its officials are or would like to be part of it … Regardless of what business or profession they are in, their road up included government channels and government money because, as government has grown, its boundary with the rest of American life has become indistinct … Hence whether formally in government, out of it, or halfway, America’s ruling class speaks the language and has the tastes, habits, and tools of bureaucrats. It rules uneasily over the majority of Americans not oriented to government.”

That orientation is guaranteed to continue and proliferate as the treasure to be divided expands from $3.8 trillion to $4, then $5 then $6 trillion.

Where will it stop? When the CTA’s are made unimportant, un-empowered and most importantly unemployed by government. This is the threat that men like Stovall and Brannon posed, and why CTA overlord Karl Rove assisted by the gang at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce sprung so decisively into campaign-cash action. (Rove laughably argued the $1.6 million was to attack Democrat Kay Hagan who Tillis won’t face for 7 months.) In other words, GOP operatives work to stop any attempt to disrupt status quo of the monarchy. For tea partiers that refuse to believe that their GOP heroes have joined the Royal Injustice League of the Democrats, let’s provide some recent proof.

Paul D. Ryan is held in high esteem by many “conservatives” and tea partiers, and had Mitt Romney defeated President Obama he was to become Duke of Pennsylvania Avenue. Ryan has earned fame for his austerity and stinginess with the King’s treasury but that is more fiction than fact. Ryan’s plan would restore the cuts in increases the Defense Ministry suffered from sequestration, and then increase that spending by $50 billion per year. Ryan was a reliable party-line voter to extend the borrowing limit (debt ceiling) back in December and Ryan’s fingerprints, along with 161 other Republicans voted for the gargantuan, unconstitutional, $956 billion Farm Bill.

Perhaps singling Ryan out is a bit unfair considering the other 233 Republican votes in Congress, but he does have a lifetime rating of 80 from FreedomWorks! I could just as easily point out that Kristie Noem and Steve King are also regular supporters of trillion dollar Farm Bill giveaways to the non-governmental CTA’s that ensure their reelections. As a matter of fact, Noem, elected as a tea party crusader in 2010, has a Lifetime FreedomWorks rating of 54. See how quickly they become CTA’s?

So what can be done with our CTA’s and their monarchy? Well, let’s strike reform from the list. There are but 3 reforms that would alter the monarchy and I believe all three need to be done together.
1.Call a long-overdue Article V Amendment convention to bring the budget under a veto power of the states (and that’s just for starters).
2.Congress must undo the treachery of the 1929 Representation Act which limited Congress to 435 members and expanded representation to one congressman for every 50,000 citizens.
3.Repeal the 17th Amendment.

OK, that gets us back to 1912 but we’re still stuck with the Federal Reserve, the IRS, Congress “owning” hundreds of millions of acres of land inside the several states, and that $212 Trillion in debt. Representation can be somewhat altered however, by the bloated, out of scale states, dividing themselves up in smaller polities that produce a new pair of U.S. senators, governor and state capitol, but Lincoln worshippers beware. Once folks get the idea that dividing governments up to make them more manageable actually produces good results, the present union could be next.

In short, folks, we face daunting political crises that have no easy solutions. These crises have been foisted on us by our own apathy and the emergence of our monarchy and attendant CTAs. Somewhere along the road to titles of nobility (see FLOTUS), unelected dukes, earls and viscounts (see agency heads and tenured bureaucrats) and hereditary royal families (See Kennedy, Bush, and Clinton) someone should have interrupted our social media orgies to inquire “who died and made them King?”

In 1765, on his first day as a member of the famous Virginia House of Burgesses, Patrick Henry offered his countrymen, who were British at the time, the following advice when confronted with the monarchy’s latest tyranny, the Stamp Acts. “Julius Caesar had his Brutus, Charles the I his Cromwell and King George III…” Henry was interrupted by shouts of “treason, treason!” He finished his thought. “And King George III might profit by their example.”

We know that George III’s army was defeated by Washington’s “rabble in arms,” who peacefully accepted Cornwallis’s surrender at Yorktown, then surrendered his own command. Maybe it’s time to convene the Third Continental Congress and begin sending official, united appeals to the CTAs and see what that might portend for our own monarchy.
