What Nancy Pelosi Claims Two Families of Benghazi Victims Have Told Democratic Lawmakers
May. 10, 2014 4:21pm Oliver Darcy

Families of the Benghazi victims have reached out to Democratic lawmakers and asked them not to launch another investigation into the 2012 attack that claimed the lives of four Americans, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) claimed Friday.

“Two of their families have called us and said, ‘Please don’t take us down this path again,’” Pelosi said during her weekly press conference. “It’s really hard for them. It’s very sad.”

The San Francisco congresswoman then took a swing at Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), while skewering the new committee headed by Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) to investigate Benghazi.

“This is a stunt,” Pelosi said. “Issa is damaged goods. They had to move to another venue with another chairman.”

Rep. Louise Slaughter’s (D-N.Y.) also told The Huffington Post that a family member from Tyone Woods’ family called on Thursday to express support for her position. Woods was one of the CIA contractors killed in the 2012 attack.

IF there is any truth to these reports, they may not be comfortable with more light being shed on the nature of the CIA & State presence in the area.

I wonder if Gowdy has the maturity and patience to WAIT until his counter-move is sufficiently thought through, and is strong and safe?

This is the big stage--Sen. Sam Ervin time !!

We don't let the families of individual soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen dictate our foreign policies, and war moves.

We should not be intimidated by Pelosi, but what Gowdy says and how he says it are extremely important, lest the committee efforts get shot down at the start.

Gowdy needs to be very respectful of Pelosi's families, empathize, but move to the bigger issue, of what the President, Secretary of State and other top officials knew, when they knew, and WHY they didn['t do more to save lives, and learn about the coverups, and diversions to silly films.
