Should the president not instead be engaged in a small task called running the bleeping country?

Ain't that the truth?
For the progressive, there is very little to love about the United States. Washington, Jefferson, Madison? A bunch of rotten slaveholders, hypocrites, and cowards even when their hearts were in the right places. The Declaration of Independence? A manifesto for the propertied classes. The Constitution? An artifact of sexism and white supremacy. The sacrifices in the great wars of the 20th century? Feeding the poor and the disenfranchised into the meat-grinder of imperialism. The gifts of Carnegie, Rockefeller, Vanderbilt, Morgan, Astor? Blood money from self-aggrandizing robber barons. Nat Rev

In a way, we should be grateful, I guess. Can you imagine if he put the same amount of energy into advancing the Progressive agenda?

That's because he has surrounded himself with people who well know what happens when someone tells him something other than what he wants to hear!

Hmmmm....the Wookie predicted a victory against Romney in 2012.

Maybe they think they have a foolproof method of stealing ballots?

Sorry guys but with this electorate, I wouldn't bet against him.
November 6, 2012, a day in infamy...the death of a republic as we know it.

He is saying this publicly because he has to, and it is expected that he do so. Same goes for Pelosi, and the rest of them.

But on policy after policy, he has turned to the far left--his base. He's vulnerable up the middle.

That is where most elections are decided, and the GOP should be working very hard to prove theirs are the better choices and options.

This president never has bothered with that little task. He's delegated it to people like Valerie Jarrett and some of his favorite dep't heads like Eric Holder. He doesn't have to use his time on silliness like running the country.

If they get immigration in before the mid-terms he is correct. I think even without he is correct.

I'm thinking that either

- Obama is so insulated, he believes this.
- Obama knows that the Dems can steal enough races to make it happen.
- Obama is bat s*** crazy.

Totally agree with you flowers.  The fix is in and I don't think we can stop it.  Our "leaders" are determined to flush this nation down the toilet.

Serious question #1:
When do you think "the electorate" is going to change back to "the way it was" when Reagan got elected?

Serious question #2:
What does that portend for the future of the Republican party?

I'll take a stab at it.

#1 - It won't. At least not until there are major, catastrophic problems, causing serious life choices by average citizens.
#2 - It's well on the way to irrelevance, which is why the establishment is rushing to become Democrat-lite.

I agree with you.
#1 - Things have slid too far for any speeches, slogans, policy proposals to amount to a hill of beans.  As you say, nothing is going to change until it all starts to come crashing down.
#2 - no further comment
