I really doubt it was an EMP, the effects were too isolated. If it wasn't the U2 speed and flight confusing and overloading the air traffic system, I would have guessed it would be a hacking event.

Precisely.  I think its a great idea that the Air Force is keeping their pieholes closed and not telling the world what caused that problem last week.  I suspect it was a software problem in the conflict resolution system for the whole Southwest US that went haywire when that U-2 scooted overhead at 60,000 feet where nothing really ought to be flying.

In any case this was no EMP and to say this guy is speculating is to remain polite about his babbling.....
