Obama White House Threatens Constitutional Showdown Over Benghazi Investigation
by Ulsterman on May 6, 2014

Yesterday, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney hinted that the Obama White House was more than willing to plunge the nation into a Constitutional crisis.  If the president ignores the lawful and far reaching legal powers of Congress to look into possible wrongdoing by an administration, or in any way attempts to impede that investigation, it will truly be a time capsule moment taking the country back to the Watergate era of the 1970′s, and the Nixon White House.

Here are the Carney comments that has even the Obama Mainstream Media buzzing this morning:

“We have always cooperated with legitimate oversight… it certainly casts doubt on the legitimacy of an effort that is so partisan in nature.”

What Jay Carney does not include in his “illegitimate” comments, is the fact this newly established investigative committee was formed due to the Obama White House being forced by a 3rd party lawsuit, to hand over an non-redacted email that directly linked the White House to an alleged Benghazi cover-up.  Now it appears, having just the tip of the proverbial truth iceberg revealed last week, the Obama team is crying out that the very thing that required a bit of truth, and proved the administration was lying, is not a “legitimate” process.

They do this in the hopes that enough voters will run to Barack Obama’s side and feign outrage that Congress would expect him to have to be truthful.  Then the whispers of racism will no doubt turn to shouts, and we could very well see a White House refusing to comply with a legal investigative process – thus daring Congress to participate in a Constitutional crisis showdown.

Likely the White House feels that a John Boehner controlled House of Representatives won’t go that far, and they may be right.  But John Boehner won’t survive long past the 2014 Midterm Elections as House Speaker, and if Republicans control the Senate after November as well, all the investigative work being done this summer, would likely provide more than ample motivation to finally bring truth to what many have long considered the most secretive and corrupt presidential administration in the history of the nation.

Let's do it then.  We need another good knock-down, drag-out fight between the legislative and executive branches to reset that relationship, as they say.

"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."
