Clarence Holmes, aka Noble Yahudah Ben Ysrael, was arrested on New Year’s Eve for driving with a revoked license.

Yahudah claims he was improperly held in jail because he is a citizen of the United States of Yisrael. His group contends their descent from slavery grants them status as a sovereign state.

Quote
Noble Yahudah Ben Ysrael was in court today for a pre-trial hearing for a traffic violation of driving with a revoked license. Even though he was born in this country he says he is not a U.S. citizen but a citizen of the United Nation Of Yisrael.

This is an organization of African-Americans who contend their descent from slavery grants them status as a sovereign state along with exemption from some laws.

His real name is Clarence Holmes and that is the name used in the charges. he’ll be facing a jury trial later this month and is acting as his own attorney.
