"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim tribute to patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness -- these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. . . . reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principles."
George Washington

"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters."
Benjamin Franklin

So we now have income inequality, savings inequality, air quality inequality, healthcare inequality and how many other "inequalities" I don't even remember.   **nononono*  Will these liberals ever stop with this nonsense?

And the march toward "nationalization" of our IRAs and 401K accounts begins.

And the march toward "nationalization" of our IRAs and 401K accounts begins.

This isn't just the beginning, this is the end of the opening game and the start of the middle game.  However, since the GOP is unlikely to go along with a naked seizure of IRAs and 401ks, "studies" like this will most likely be used as fig leaves to justify new regulations that squeeze even harder on 401ks, particularly those owned by upper-tier employees, forcing employers to either create no-, or little-, contribution 401ks for low-level employees, to put a lot more resources into, and increase the benefits of, defined benefit plans for low-tier employees (even to the point of having to start one in the first place), or else to simply drop the 401k plans altogether and leave employees to the limited IRA contribution levels.
