"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim tribute to patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness -- these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. . . . reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principles."
George Washington

"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters."
Benjamin Franklin

Typical liberals. You are free to speak, as long as you agree with me.

Events have been too gloomy to ponder lately. Growing police militarization and violence. Fedgov corruption and indifference to liberty guaranteed in the Declaration and the Constitution. University students with no connection to or appreciation of our heritage as Americans. The feeling of helplessness as the future fades to black. Even our discussions at TBR reflect a sense of the inevitability of a downward spiral. I feel myself disengaging.

My friend - you might take some time off. Hit up a book, or some yard work, or learn Russian. You are burning out. I'd not like to see you burn out.
