A new poll conducted shows Hillary Clinton's favorability ratings hitting historic lows, while the part who has often opposed her is enjoying something of a surge. The Fox News poll, conducted by GOP and Democratic pollsters, show the former Secretary of State with the lowest favorability rating in six years, at 45%, compared to 49% unfavorable. As a Washington Post article on the poll points out, those are levels Clinton hasn't seen in over half a decade:

“The last time her numbers were in that ballpark was during the 2008 Democratic presidential primary race. After she ended her campaign, her favorable/unfavorable split was 47/46.

Other polls have shown Clinton's numbers -- which were stellar during her time as secretary of state -- steadily dropping since she left her post last year.

By contrast, the GOP, longtime foil to the Clintons, have seen their approval ratings improve by nearly 50%. The GOP now enjoys an even split, with 45% of the country each finding the party favorable or unfavorable. In October of last year, the same poll had the GOP with a mere 30% approval rating.
