Daily Beast: Obamacare Making Doctors Miserable

Article links ACA to doctor suicide, unhappiness

The Daily Beast called being a doctor "the most miserable profession" in an article posted Monday, and linked many of the problems doctors deal with to the passage of Obamacare.

Citing statistics that show 9 in 10 doctors discourage prospective entrants to the medical field from joining, and the 300 doctor suicides committed each year, the article notes the rampant dissatisfaction many doctors face today. Calling a career as a doctor "a miserable and humiliating undertaking," the Beast says the average doctor-patient visit is now 12 minutes. And it won't get better under Obamacare:

“What worries many doctors, however, is that the Affordable Care Act has codified this broken system into law. While forcing everyone to buy health insurance, ACA might have mandated a uniform or streamlined claims procedure that would have gone a long way to improving access to care.

So if it's true that, as the article asserts, "many doctors feel that America has declared war on physicians," the massive health care law that shares a name with the President may be considered that war's largest offensive.
