South Korea may be rethinking how much trust to put into that alliance, in light of recent events.

The armistice has kept the peace for 60 years and there is no sign that the South Koreans want out. They are still conducting Foal Eagle exercises every year since 1997 pretending the real thing.Training exercises like Foal Eagle are carried out in the spirit of the Oct. 1, 1953, ROK-U.S. Mutual Defense Treaty and in accordance with the Armistice
