Obama’s World Poverty Tax
It isn’t enough that Barack Obama expects the American taxpayer to pay for America’s lazy, but he now wants us to pay for the problems of the poor around the world!
You would think that being $17+ trillion in debt would stop any insane ideas that America can “feed the world.” But when it comes to the insanity of global communist and America’s idiotic president, debt knows no bounds.
So in an effort to fight global poverty, Obama supports the Millennium Development Goal of cutting extreme poverty around the world in half by 2015. He has vowed to double American foreign assistance to achieve this via Senate Bill 2433.
This legislation requires the President of the United States to create a comprehensive strategy to further the United States foreign policy objective of promoting the reduction of global poverty, the elimination of extreme global poverty, and contributing to the of reducing by one-half the proportion of people worldwide who live on less than $1 per day.
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) states that its function is to provide “economic, development and humanitarian assistance around the world in support of the foreign policy goals of the United States.” While the effectiveness of foreign aid remains up for debate, the United States recently has continued to pump around $50 billion (from $30 billion) in aid to other countries each year.
The United States is the world’s top donor by far, but for Obama it’s still not enough. With Obama it’s not “give until it hurts,” it’s “give until it KILLS!”
And this is just what the government gives. We consistently rank among the Top 5 in charitable giving, and are again a solid number one in terms of actual monetary and personal assistance to other countries.
I’d like to know why Obama wants so badly to punish a country that is already outperforming ALL OTHER COUNTRIES in humanitarian issues?! Oh, that’s right…America needs a bit more humility.
The bad news is with all the assistance the US has provided many of these nations over decades, what do they have to show for it? More poverty.
