Shoe thrown at the Hildebeest during speech
« on: April 10, 2014, 10:30:30 pm »
A woman was taken into custody after throwing what she described as a shoe at Hillary Clinton during a Las Vegas speech.

The incident happened moments after Clinton took the stage Thursday at an Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries meeting at the Mandalay Bay hotel-casino.

Clinton ducked but did not appear to be hit by the object, and then joked about it.

...that was in Iraq, and that is President Malaki standing next to him.  If you recall, when US troops pulled down the statue of Saddam Hussein, the locals all too turns beating the face of it with their shoes.....

Showing the soles of your feet to someone is hugely disrespectful. Shoes are considered unclean. Think about mosques and homes - the first thing you do is remove your shoes. Makes sense, considering the state of a lot of the roads!

Willing to bet in was a Lyndon LaRoucher. I've seen this kind of protest from them on a few occasions, where they would sneak into an event like this and make some kind of disturbance. They just as equally go after Republicans as Democrats. They are the ones behind all the posters with Obama with a Hitler mustache. They did the same with Bush.

Women are very good shoe throwers. I can remember my mom thowing a shoe at me at a distance and it would hit me square in the back. I think that they should allow them in the NFL or in professional baseball.

Brian Spellacy, U.S. Secret Service supervisory special agent in Las Vegas, said the woman was being questioned and would face criminal charges. Spellacy declined to identify the woman, and he said it wasn't immediately clear what the charges would be.

Why not identify the woman???  Muslim???

Too bad Hillary didn't have a lamp nearby.

I've heard she's thrown a few in the past.

It would have been a great retaliatory move....     :smokin:

According to a witness, the woman marched down the aisle and stopped about six rows from the front of the auditorium. She then hurled the shoe, or whatever it was, at Hillary Clinton on the stage.

One witness described the object as “something orange thrown from the side aisle with papers that fluttered in the air.”

The woman gave herself up to the hotel security staff and reportedly told them the object was a shoe. The hotel said it would turn the woman over to Las Vegas police to be arrested.

A piece of paper apparently thrown by the woman at Hillary Clinton was recovered after the speech. An Associated Press reporter described the paper as, “a copy of a Department of Defense document labeled confidential and dated August 1967; it referred to an operation ‘Cynthia’ in Bolivia.”

Operation Cynthia was a 1967 effort involving 2,500 Bolivian troops to capture revolutionary leader Che Guevara.

What “Operation Cynthia” has to do with Hillary Clinton, who was a 19-year-old undergraduate at Wellesley College when it took place, was not made clear.

Hillary Clinton shoe-thrower identified as Phoenix woman
Alison Michelle Ernst was processed by Las Vegas authorities after federal prosecutors declined to press charges, according to a Secret Service spokesman. Authorities said the suspect was wearing sandals, indicating she brought the black and orange shoe specifically to toss at Clinton.

The woman who fired a shoe at Hillary Clinton after slipping past security was upset when cops arrested her inside a Las Vegas casino, according to a police report.

Alison Michelle Ernst, 36, of Phoenix, “appeared to be in an agitated state but aware of what she had just done,” said the report from a Las Vegas police detective.

Ernst was charged with disorderly conduct in Thursday’s deja shoe incident, reminiscent of a similar footwear assault on President George W. Bush in Iraq.
