So what’s this all about?
Conservative writer and activist Brent Bozell, the founder and president of the Media Research Center, sent this letter to Majority Leader Eric Cantor on his decision to headline an anti-Tea Party event this weekend in Florida.

Quote
Dear Majority Leader Cantor:

Conservative leaders were stunned to learn that you will be headlining a conference in Florida this weekend that is, purely and simply, a direct attack on Tea Party conservatives. Worse still, this event is sponsored in part by ultra-liberal financier/activist George Soros and organized labor – both of which have openly, repeatedly – and often viciously – waged war on conservatives and Republicans for years.

What has possessed you to headline this event? Do you think so little of conservatives that you would directly insult them by attending?

Since Mitt Romney’s defeat in the 2012 presidential election a substantial rift has opened between the GOP’s congressional leadership and rank-and-file Republicans, grassroots conservatives and Tea Party supporters – the very activists who provided the energy, enthusiasm and mobilization that fueled the historic Republican victory in 2010 and gave you and your colleagues the House majority you hold today. You would not be Majority Leader today but for Tea Party conservatives. And you’re headlining an event sponsored by a leftist organization committed to its destruction.

As we head in to midterm elections later this year, it would seem incumbent upon Republican leaders to do everything they can to actually heal this rift. Instead you are widening it further.

It is our understanding that Speaker John Boehner had planned to attend but is no longer doing so. We expect no less from you. Attending this event shows you are siding with the Democrat donors, unions, and other Soros-backed groups who have contributed over $1 million to attack conservatives.

Your position makes you one of the top Republican leaders in the country and places extraordinary responsibility upon you to honor the commitments you made to those who worked so hard to provide Republicans the majority, and you the position of Majority Leader. Aligning yourself with extreme opponents of the Republican Party would be an astonishing turn of events — with consequences. Mr. Leader: Don’t aid and abet sworn opponents of conservatives. If you do it will cause irreparable damage. If your position is that grassroots conservatives and Tea Party supporters no longer belong in the Republican Party then it will permanently destroy any credibility you have left with conservatives. Without conservatives the GOP will also collapse. Leader Cantor, back out of this event. Sincerely, L. Brent Bozell III Chairman, ForAmerica -

The left believes if you can't conquer the GOP, subvert it.

Does everybody here just gobble up Bozell's article, without questions? There is no proof shown in the article for the claims.

The link takes you to his own organization, complete with his fundraising check off box. But no evidence of the claims.

It reminds me of the style of Joseph Farah, and WND.

Breitbart takes it seriously: http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/04/08/Bozell-To-Cantor-Attend-Amelia-Island-Summit-At-Your-Own-Peril

And, there is this:
Quote
Stay away from Main Street Advocacy, a liberal/RINO Soros funded group.
"LaTourette heads up the so-called "Main Street Partnership," which claims to represent "thoughtful," "pragmatic," "common sense" and "centrist" Republican leadership. Reality check: The pro-bailout, pro-debt, pro-amnesty, anti-drilling group founded by former liberal New York GOP Congressman Amory Houghton includes three liberal Senate Republicans (John McCain, Mark Kirk and Susan Collins) and 52 center-left House Republicans."

This RINO Group = The GOP establishment
"Next weekend, John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Kevin McCarthy, and twenty-five other members of Congress are flying to Amelia Island to collaborate with a group dedicated to defeating conservatives in Congress."

They have backstabbed true conservative candidates in the past: Todd Akin, Ken Cuccinelli, and David Jolly (though Jolly still managed to win).

Hard to believe. If this is true, they would all be writing their own resignations.

Everyone knows that I believe that ultimately, on many levels, the Pubs and the Dems are all the same side. That is, the side of 'Government'. But this seems a little too 'out there'.

If they do this, there would be no doubt remaining that they all work for the same people. (and it ain't us, that's for sure)
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.

This story has been reported far and wide for about two weeks now.  Boehner backed out claiming a "scheduling conflict" after the word got out about this Amelia Island, FL weekend.  I don't see what there is to question, the weekend is taking place, these groups are running it, and Cantor is still scheduled to be there, along with McCarthy I believe.  It is real, they are all a part of it.  We've heard all about LaTourette's "Main Street Partnership" for quite some time, they don't deny their funding sources, nor their stated mission.  It is what it is; as you say, the Government Party aligned against the people.  And yes, they all do work for the same people and it ain't us.

Is any one denying that this event is taking place?  Or that this group is running it?  Does anyone think that Brent Bozell would write this letter for a made up event?  Seriously?

After all the mud thrown by FreedomWorks, Senate Conservatives Fund, and Heritage Action against Republicans, it is truly hilarious to witness such handwringing over this event.

Roy Moore's "spiritual warfare" is driving past a junior high without stopping.
