Outrageous: Government Won’t Let People Buy Health Insurance for Seven Months!

obamacare's false promise

Apparently, Glenn Beck had this little piece of news two weeks ago. It’s unfortunate more people in Congress aren’t tuned in to him because some seemed completely unaware today when they spoke on Fox about the ObamaCare rule that bans most people from health insurance for the next seven months if they didn’t buy insurance by the deadline.

U.S. citizens will NOT be allowed to buy health insurance! The government has mandated it!

What right does the government have to tell people they can’t buy insurance?

You can’t buy outside the exchanges, you can’t buy privately, and you had better stay healthy or have some life-changing event that will give you the right to buy insurance.

“It’s all closed down. You cannot buy a policy that is a qualified policy for the purpose of the ACA (the Affordable Care Act) until next year on January 1,” says John DiVito, president of Flexbenefit which has 2,500 brokers.

John Goodman of the National Center for Policy Analysis in Dallas adds, “People are not going to be able to buy individual and family policies, and that’s part of ObamaCare. And what makes it so surprising is the whole point of ObamaCare was to encourage people to get insurance, and now the market has been completely closed down for the next seven months.”

This will affect tens of millions of people.

Three-quarters of the people who are eligible for subsidies have not signed up – about 13 million people. What are they supposed to do?

When people show up in ER’s, who will pay? Are the doctors supposed to work for free?

Millions couldn’t afford the insurance and decided to take the penalty and delay buying insurance. What will they do?

So far, only one in five or one in seven of the uninsured have been signed up. Wasn’t that the purpose of this bill – to get more people insured?

Short-term insurance can still preclude people with pre-existing conditions. What about them?

There are some life-changing conditions that will allow people to still buy insurance such as marriage, divorce, job loss, et al.

The Washington Post and Gallup reported that the number of uninsured has dropped, a sign that ObamaCare is working according to them, but how is a bill that precludes Americans from buying insurance in any way be “working?”

What right does the government have to tell anyone in this country they can’t buy insurance? What freedom do we have if we can’t even purchase insurance unless the government says it’s okay? This is communism of a sort. We are left without choice. This isn’t America any longer and people don’t seem to care.
