Well, Rand is right, although pin-pointing the problem is the easy part, so how exactly can the GOP do all of this? I don't think opposing the NSA will be enough, these people in California like big government and all that goes with it.

Agree.  Rand is doing some good things, but the entitlement society will vote for entitlements.  Being non interventionist in foreign policy, against NSA and for pot legalization will only get you so far.

A large part of the problem for the GOP in California is the massive invasion of illegals and the corresponding lack of federal enforcement.   California is quickly becoming Mexifornia and is a microcosm of what will happen to America in a few short years unless strong enforcement measures are taken.

America is becoming a European style socialist state. The public not only accepts it, but in large part, demands it. It's happening before our very eyes. It's why there is such bitterness on display here and places like this. Those of us who feel this is the wrong path are alternately disgusted, unhappy, outraged, and demoralized.

The GOP is morphing into a European style conservative party. That is to say, they support the public's wish for big government, they just want to say they'll manage it better than liberals.

The course is set, and those that chide because we need to keep "fighting", look at Boehner, McConnel and Cantor, and tell me what fighting for them gets you?
