Obama Runs Off to Chicago Fundraiser – While Fort Hood Comes Under Attack
Posted by Jim Hoft on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, 6:16 PM

President Barack Obama is in Chicago this evening for two fundraising events. The White House issued a statement saying Obama has been informed of the shootings at Fort Hood and will be kept apprised.

There is no mention in the reports of Obama cancelling the fundraisers as soldiers under his command are under attack on American soil.

From Politico at 6:55 p.m. EDT (which doesn’t mention Obama is fundraising in Chicago):

“President Barack Obama has been informed of the shooting that occurred Wednesday at Fort Hood army base in Texas, according to the pool report.

““The President has been informed of reports of a shooting at Fort Hood. He’ll continue to receive updates on the situation throughout the evening,” principal deputy press secretary Josh Earnest said, as quoted by the pool report.”

From WLS Chicago:

“Air Force One landed at O’Hare Airport Wednesday around 4 p.m.(CDT), bringing President Obama back home to Chicago for a pair of fundraisers.

“President Obama will only be in Chicago for a few hours before heading back to the White House. In anticipation of President Obama’s visit, some closures on Lake Shore Drive are in place and LaSalle Street north of the Chicago River is also closed in the River North neighborhood.

“His first scheduled stop is at the Chicago Cut Steakhouse, where he will attend a private roundtable discussion for the Democratic National Committee. Twenty-five supporters will attend that event, each paying up to $32,400.

“Around 7 p.m., President Obama will attend a dinner reception at a private residence in Lincoln Park. Fifty-five supporters paid up to $10,000 to attend this private reception.

“The president is expected to leave Chicago around 8:30 p.m.”

Just like Benghazi, Obama won’t let his duty to protect Americans from Terrorists interfere with his fundraising for the Democratic Party.

this is so Benghazi. There goes that bitch again campaigning while Americans suffer, but at least Obama isn't trying to blame a bad movie for Fort Hood II yet.

This idiot is no more involved in the administration of this nation than I am.

Oh, but didn't he take a minute and say he was 'heartbroken' about this attack?

Duty done.   Now make more fun appearances and party hearty.........     **nononono*
Character still matters.  It always matters.

May 3, 2016 - the day the Republican party left ME.  I am now without a Party, and quite possibly without a country.  May God have mercy!

Found this in some obscure local Chicago news site:
President Obama's Lincoln Park Fundraiser Snarls Traffic, Brings Protesters
By Paul Biasco on April 3, 2014 8:12am

LINCOLN PARK — President Barack Obama's fundraising trip shut down portions of Lincoln Park Wednesday, snarling traffic and bringing out protesters.

The Lincoln Park stop on the president's itinerary was at a private home in the 2300 block of North Janssen Avenue reportedly owned by Craig Freedman and Grace Tsao-Wu for a $10,000-a-ticket Democratic Party fundraiser.

Before the president's motorcade of more than 25 vehicles arrived, a half-dozen city tow trucks towed more than 10 vehicles off the block of the residence. Secret Service agents and Chicago Police shut down all of Fullerton Avenue in both directions ahead of the president's visit from the lakeshore to at least Southport Avenue. The shutdown of Fullerton led to major traffic jams throughout the rest of the neighborhood.

Before the Lincoln Park event, Obama dined at Chicago Cut steakhouse where he addressed the shooting that had occurred at Fort Hood Wednesday afternoon.

Protesters lined two blocks of Fullerton near the private Lincoln Park residence chanting against the proposed Keystone XL pipeline.

Calumet Park resident John Rusnak, 65, attended the protest. The former school teacher said he heard about the event on social media and had previously attended Occupy Chicago meetings.

He was there to protest student loan interest rates and a lack of funding support for higher education.

"I just feel bad for the young people," Rusnak said. "Drawing attention to the problem is all you really can do."

Bronzeville resident Catrina Roberts, 28, heard about the protest on Facebook and was there to fight for environmental issues. She said one of the major reasons she attended was the recent BP oil spill in Lake Michigan.

"I'm hoping he rejects the keystone XL and just leaves it at that," Roberts said.
