She's not wrong. It was a total fuster cluck. But - how in God's name should the US or the UK or the Aussies know what Afghans want? They have no idea themselves, except maybe "Don't let me be shot or bombed today."

There is a valid and useful technique that was shot down immediately after Kabul was taken, because the US didn't like it. It was unofficially used with some success in the years UK forces were predominately in control.

Partitioning. Let it break up on tribal or ethnic lines. Easier to fix a bunch of small countries than one big one.
