UN's Richard Falk: Apologist for evil; critic of peace

The UN Anti-Israel Human Rights Council gave a going-away gift to the "Special Rapporteur on Palestinian Territories" Richard Falk last weekend, issuing 5 condemnations of Israel.  This is the response from Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu.

Over the weekend the UN Human Rights Council condemned Israel five times, this at a time when the slaughter in Syria is continuing, innocent people are being hung in the Middle East and human rights are being eroded. In many countries free media are being shut down and the UN Human Rights Council decides to condemn Israel for closing off a balcony. This is absurd. This march of hypocrisy is continuing and we will continue to condemn it and expose it.

It's hard to conceive of a more impotent and bloated organization than the UN, and within that bureaucratic miasma there's a nugget of tempered evil that always infects the doublespeak named UN Human Rights Council. The UN itself is consistently, persistently, and voluminously anti-Israel, and in fact has adopted over 130 Security Council resolutions over this one small country.   There are at least 13 resolutions adopted by the General Assembly condemning Israel or promoting the Palestinian cause every year, for about the last 40 years.  The UNHRC has condemned Israel more than all other nations combined.

It's hard to take such an organization seriously as any kind of impartial body.  The facts reveal that the entire purpose of the UNHRC is to bash Israel.

And none is a more dedicated Israel basher than Richard Falk.

I am continually amazed that Jews (disclosure:  I was born a Jew and am a Jewish follower of Jesus) would fall so far from their lineage and heritage as to support the physical enemies of Israel, the Jewish State.  It's almost like the "white man's guilt" that propels some liberals to fits of virtual self-immolation in supporting the destructive policies of race-baiting, or "neocolonial guilt" that turns Obama into the world's weakest leader.

Even the US Ambassador to the UN, Samantha Power, wrote in a statement to Reuters regarding Falk:

His publication of bizarre and insulting material has tarnished the U.N.'s reputation and undermined the effectiveness of the Human Rights Council," she said. "The United States welcomes Mr. Falk's departure, which is long overdue.

Falk, at 83, left a legacy as an apologist for evil, supporting the Iranian revolution while condemning the US, and blaming the US for 9/11.  His definition of peace would be the total destruction of Israel and the deportation (or genocide?) of all the Jews there while the Palestinians burn Tel-Aviv and Haifa, and convert all the Christian and Jewish holy places into Mosques or simply destroy them.

The UN should be saying "good riddance" to this fly in the ointment of rationality.  But instead, they offer him a gift of 5 more condemnations.

The US should quit the UNHRC, and under Bush it was boycotted.  Obama's UN mission has allowed the US to be elected and participate in this farce twice so far, and has even defended it.  Apparently to liberals consumed with guilt, it's better to participate in evil and vote against it than to just avoid it altogether.
