After we're finished guffawing, think of this. New York State businesses are crippled by Worker's Compensation costs. California is just as bad, as are most states. (shhh...plaintiffs' attorneys are killing us. It's the American dream! Slip and fall at work.)

You're right, AC, workers' comp can sap the life out of an economy. In my state, they're trying to force volunteer fire departments to pay up for such insurance. This could be devastating to charitable groups that depend on volunteers to carry out their mission.
