On Thursday, President Barack Obama announced that he signed an executive order to extend U.S. sanctions as a response to Russian President Vladimir Putin's move to annex the Crimea region of Ukraine. This comes after Monday's announcement he was leveling sanctions against seven Russian officials.
"These sanctions would not only have a significant impact on the Russian economy, but could also be disruptive to the global economy. However, Russia must now that further escalation will only isolate it further from the international community."
