According to information released on Monday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, more states lost jobs than gained them during January; some 27 states and Washington D.C. lost jobs, as opposed to only 23 gaining jobs. Leading the way in jobs gains was, unsurprisingly, the Republic of Texas, which gained 33,900 jobs. The biggest losers were, in order, California (31,500 jobs lost), Illinois (27,600), and Kentucky (18,500). Ohio gained 16,700 jobs, and Arizona gained 8,900 jobs. The three job-losing states are all governed by Democrats; the top three job-gaining states are all governed by Republicans.

In terms of the unemployment rate, Nevada did best, gaining 3.4% in employment, with North Dakota following suit at 3.3% and Texas coming in a strong third at 2.9%. Rhode Island has the highest unemployment rate in the nation, at 9.2%, with North Dakota clocking in at a stunning 2.6%, largely thanks to its booming fracking industry.

Over the course of 2013, Texas, California, Florida gained most in terms of absolute jobs numbers. Texas led the way with 322,400 jobs; California gained 319,600, and Florida gained 192,800. California’s unemployment rate still has an 8.1% unemployment rate in January; nationally, America is at a 6.6% rate.

I was thinking about getting a house in Illinois.. Having said that I'm going to put it on hold I'm waiting on the results of the election if I'm either going to stay or I'm leaving. I can't to live in this state.
