The Associated Press is attacking the Obama administration again, as the White House continues to deny journalists government access through the Freedom of Information Act.
The administration continues to cite legal exceptions to the law to justify withholding the requested documentation. It has now exceed the record amount of withholdings of newsworthy information from American journalists.
In 2013, the Obama administration has withheld nearly 8,500 times, a 57 percent increase from the previous year. Many of the documents withheld are from the Department of Defense, including the NSA and CIA.
Since President Obama took office in 2009, his administration has withheld newsworthy information from journalists 81,752 times.
