A magnitude 7.0 earthquake hit the Pacific coast of Chile at a depth of 20.5 miles (32 km), the U.S. Geological Survey said on Sunday.

The quake was centered 44 miles (70 km) northwest of Iquique, in northern Chile, the USGS said.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

No mention of LA's quake yet? 4.4.

Lot of activity around the Ring of Fire lately.  We are likely due for a major volcanic eruption soon.  Statistically it will be somewhere in Indonesia since they have more volcanoes than anyone else, but who knows?

What was the last real biggie on the ring?

Keep wanting to say Mt. St. Helens, but that can't be right.

I agree. Ohio had a small quake a few weeks ago.

Many rumors of war and earthquakes in divers places.

Actually, the number of earthquakes is within the normal averages.
