Facebook's Zuckerberg Calls Obama To Complain About Latest NSA Spying Revelations

On Thursday, company founder Mark Zuckerberg posted on Facebook that he called President Obama to vent his frustrations and concerns regarding a report that the NSA has been aping his Facebook's servers to install malware on other computers.

I've called President Obama to express my frustration over the damage the government is creating for all of our future. Unfortunately, it seems like it will take a very long time for true full reform.
On Wednesday, Glenn Greenwald revealed another revelation from the NSA files stolen by Edward Snowden. The documents discuss a program called QUANTUMHAND, which was launched in 2010 and masquerades as a Facebook server to act as a “launching pad” for malware that infects computers and sneaks files from their hard drives.
Zuckerberg wrote on his wall that he's been "confused and frustrated by the repeated reports of the behavior of the U.S. government. When our engineers work tirelessly to improve security, we imagine we're protecting you against criminals, not our own government."
White House spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden confirmed that the president spoke with Zuckerberg Wednesday night regarding "recent reports in the press about alleged activities by the U.S. intelligence community." She gave no further comment.

This is why I've been so confused and frustrated by the repeated reports of the behavior of the US government. When our engineers work tirelessly to improve security, we imagine we're protecting you against criminals, not our own government.
The US government should be the champion for the internet, not a threat. They need to be much more transparent about what they're doing, or otherwise people will believe the worst.
