Ever the paragon of civility and class, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) used a provocative homophone Tuesday to describe Republicans’ association with the Koch brothers.

“Senate Republicans, Madame President, are addicted to Koch,” Reid said from the Senate floor, pausing a few seconds before continuing his remarks. “In fact, Senate Republicans hardly need the [National Republican Senatorial Committee] anymore, which for decade after decade was their main funding tool for the Republican Senate. Not any longer — the Koch brothers take care of that.”

It was Reid’s latest broadside against the GOP and “Koch-backed groups” that have aired advertisements exposing Obamacare “horror stories.” He categorically called all such “tales” untrue in remarks from the Senate chamber last week.

“We heard about the evils of Obamacare, about the lives it’s ruining in Republican stump speeches, in ads paid for by oil magnates, the Koch brothers,” Reid said. “But in those tales, it turned out to be just that: tales. Stories made up from whole cloth, lies, distorted by the Republicans to grab headlines or make political advertisements.”

Hitting back and showing that it’s not exactly irrelevant, the NRSC rebutted Reid in a tough ad entitled “A Dose of Reality.” Additionally, Julie Boonstra, a Michigan cancer patient who lost her health insurance because of Obamacare and was featured in an Americans for Prosperity commercial that Reid attacked as “absolutely false,” demanded an apology from the Majority Leader.

“He is saying, in my opinion, that I am a liar and that the people who have come forth who have had, you know, a negative outcome due to Obamacare, that we are liars and we are telling tales, our stories are untrue,” Boonstra said Thursday on Fox News Radio.

Koch spokesman Philip Ellender went right back at Reid for his persistence in attacking the Koch brothers Tuesday afternoon, saying that discussion of the country’s future should be conducted more respectfully.

“This topic is worthy of vigorous dialogue and civil debate between people who exercise mutual respect for others with opposing viewpoints,” Ellender said in a statement. “We are disappointed that Senator Reid is attacking private citizens rather than the problems facing this nation. It is no wonder that Americans have lost faith in Congress.”

Oh please, where do the Koch donations rate in the grand scheme of things?  After all the different union donations to the Democrats?   50th?  100th on the list of top political donors??

Of course, the GOPe will just roll over and take it.  The public will never hear a peep out of them rebutting this.

They rate 49.......... way behind Soros, Unions, etc.,   and the GOPe is afraid of it's own shadow these days.

Without the pithy cutsie little barbs and catch phrases, the Democrats would have nothing.

They never explain their policies, all they do is attack, attack, attack, with the juvenile little slogans and boogymen. Of course that is the mental level of their base.
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.
