"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim tribute to patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness -- these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. . . . reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principles."
George Washington

"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters."
Benjamin Franklin

The Klamath hydroelectric dams provide clean inexpensive energy to thousands of local residents who will be forced to pay much higher premiums if the dams are removed because California has strict new laws for use of renewable energy.

Witness the radical incompatibility of lib/prog policies.  Trying to throw a sop to one bunch of political cronies will destroy a "green" program libs/progs have desperately claimed is absolutely necessary to the survival of the human species on this planet.  Apparently, the sexual reproduction of a few thousand Coho Salmon trumps the entire human species.

Heck a 2" non-native fish is bankrupting Central California farmers/ranchers as California keeps the water turned off to the farmers to save the fish...
