The greater Lost Angeles area has the largest American contingent, of Armenians, going back many decades. My father was business partners of one such fellow in the OC, dating to the early 60s.

They did real estate development and sales, in what today would be called North Tustin, Cowan Heights, Lemon Heights, Peter's Canyon, Redhill, etc. (then and now, relatively high end areas of unincorporated Orange County)

They remained friends for the rest of their lives.

Armenians suffered near genocide at the hands of the Ottoman Turks.  Just being Armenian was enough to get you hung in public, which is why a large contingent of Armenian refugees relocated to the US after WWI.
