Outrageous: Extremists Want to Take Away the Right to Fish

Extremists at the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) want a catch sharing plan in place for recreational fishermen. If you don’t know what that means, know this – it’s bad.
What the catch-sharing plan means is this: say you want to go fishing for tuna, snapper, mackerel, fluke, sea bass, whatever, and you are told that before you leave the dock, you must first go buy an individual fishing tag for any of the fish you hope to bring home.
Would that make you angry because that’s what catch-sharing means? If no tags are available, or if the auction price for shares is too high to justify bidding, what then?
They are doing this in Alaska already and now they want to do it in the Gulf of Mexico.
How they get away with this in Alaska is beyond my ability to comprehend. In Alaska, anglers are allowed just five king salmon stamps a year when they purchase their fishing license.
Why are people putting up with these extremists? They are in the minority but they are ruling us.
Commercial fishermen and the rich will be able to fish but recreational fishermen will be restricted.
So, how do you feel about this? Do you want to buy a halibut, fluke, sea bass, porgy, grouper, salmon, or snapper tag before heading out on the water? After paying for bait, tackle, gas, would you like to pay for the “privilege” of fishing? Fishing is a right and these people are making it into a privilege and we’re letting them.
This is tyrannical.
First Alaska, then the Gulf, and eventually everywhere.
Are you going to sit still while the EDF crams this garbage down our throats? EDF is lying and saying the claims are “outlandish conspiracy theories and allegations” when the truth is what it is.
Capitulating is allowing ourselves to be victimized by a movement that will take away the right to fish and put the government and these extremists in charge.
